This is an RM Tempo portable reed organ manufactured sometime in the 1960s(?) which I bought from a salvage yard in mid-1999. Since 2005 it had been in the possession of some friends and I recently procured it back. As you can see on a cosmetic level the instrument needs some work done and as a starting point I’m looking to find some replacement keys so it doesn’t look so toothless. The spartan electrics also need an overhaul – I did electrocute myself once on this rig…mid-performance.
Over the next few weeks the blog will be dedicated to the RM Tempo as I fix it up, explore its sounds and incorporate it into a new Garden Ruin EP, an electronic LP and a project for 2012.
Fun fun fun.
